William Stephen Rhodes, 67, of Georgetown, Texas passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 23, 2020 with his wife and daughters at his side after a short battle with cancer.
Steve was born April 29, 1952 in Monroe Louisiana. He was born to William "Bill" and Ruby Mae Rhodes along with younger brother John Rhodes.
Steve spent the majority of his childhood in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Temple High School in 1970. He was a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelors degree in Law Enforcement and Business Administration.
While in Waco, Steve's greatest achievement was earning his Eagle Scout. He enjoyed the outdoors and also played football in high school. He was passionate about travel and took the time to see the world from an early age.
Steve was active in the Baptist Student Union at Southwest Texas State where he met his wife, Julie and they were married on August 25th, 1973. After graduation, Steve and Julie moved to New Braunfels, then Austin, and finally settling in Georgetown in July of 1985. He diligently worked 27 years with Texas Workforce Commission as an auditor.
Steve is the proud father of two loving daughters, Brittany Anne and Ashley Elizabeth, who reside with their families in Georgetown.
Steve is a child of God and was a member of Georgetown Church of the Nazarene for 34 years. He was a dedicated family man, loved his wife, Julie, their daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
William Stephen Rhodes is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother. He is survived by his wife Julie, his two daughters Brittany Blanton and Ashley Wonderly, his sons-in-law Patrick Blanton and Jordan Wonderly, and his grandchildren Payton and Evelyn Wonderly and Elijah and Iris Blanton. His family was pure joy to him.
