Wayne Meredith,71, passed away on February 17, 2023.He went to his maker and found peace and wholeness on Friday, February 17, 2023. A native Austinite, he was born to Horace and Lucille Meredith on Sunday, April 22,1951.

After coming home from Vietnam, Wayne served his local community and his state, with his 30 plus years Law Enforcement career at Travis County Sheriff's Department, then served the great state of Texas at the Attorney General's office as a Sergeant in major crimes, then Chief of Police in Elgin, Texas and finally as a detective for Tyler County Sheriff's office.
Wayne is proceeded in death by his father, Horace, his mother, Lucille, his sisters Paulette and Gaynor and his brother Roger.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Christy and his grandson CJ. Multiple siblings and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Ramsey Funeral Home.

The funeral service is at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.

Burial is at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Elgin City Cemetery
