Wayne was born to Billy Quenton Dean and Durer Margaret (Thompson) Dean on January 22, 1940 in El Paso, Texas. He was one of three children.

Wayne served four years in the Air Force as a radio operator in Japan monitoring Russian and Chinese communications. He met his wife, Dianne, of 56 years, on a blind date. They married on August 3, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. After being married only three weeks Wayne and Dianne moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend LSU. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, they moved to Houston, Texas with their first son, Larry, to start working for Shell Oil Company. Wayne and Dianne eventually settled in Simonton, Texas where they raised their four children. While Simonton, TX was their primary residence for many decades, they also lived some stints in Japan; Louisiana; New Jersey and South Korea. Wayne retired with Technip, in Houston, Texas, as an Electrical Engineer in 2008. After this, they moved to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas.

Wayne's faith and commitment to family were constants no matter where they lived.  In each location, Wayne and Dianne joined a local church and added dear friends they met while enjoying Christian fellowship. Wayne was a humble, but very discerning Bible teacher who loved reading scripture, applying its truth, and teaching others about Christ and His love for mankind.  Among those he discipled were his children who all embraced the faith modeled by Wayne and Dianne.  His legacy of faith and family remains strong.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Quenton Dean and Durer Margaret Dean; and cherished sister, LeNore Mient.

Wayne is survived by his lovely wife, Brenda Dianne Dean of Georgetown, Texas; son, Larry Dean and wife, Amy of Artesia, New Mexico; daughter, Tracy Webb and husband, Shawn of Lampasas, Texas; son, Billy Dean and wife, Roxann of Keller, Texas; son, Bobby Dean and wife, Amy of Keller, Texas;  brother, William Thomas Dean; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren (with one more on the way).
