James Edward Giles, age 53, of Georgetown, passed away on July 19, 2021. He was born January 12, 1968 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Jesse and Carla (Rich) Giles. He served as a Law Enforcement Officer in Corrections for the Williamson County Sheriffs Office  for 16 years. In 2007 James was in the CAPCOG regional training academy class number 43. James was both Salutatorian and Top Gun in his class. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp.

James started with Williamson County in 2002; deployed and returned in 2004, spent 10 yrs as a Sergeant, 3 yrs as a Lieutenant, was a Corrections Officer for almost 18 yrs, became a Peace Officer on March 30, 2007, received accolades to include Supervisor Of The Year for the Corrections Bureau in 2019.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily Amanda Giles of Lampasas; mother, Carla Jean Giles of Austin; nephew, Robert Giles of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Edward Giles; and brother, Robert Lloyd Giles.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with a time of visitation to begin at 10:00 am. Honors will be performed by the Williamson County Sheriffs Office.
