Jennifer Ann
Kammer
March 19, 1943 – September 27, 2019
Jennifer Ann Hall Kammer March 19, 1943 – September 27, 2019
Surrounded by her loving family Jennifer Kammer passed quietly from this earth into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Alzheimer's is a frightful disease and she courageously faced that challenge over an eight-year period. She was assisted in this challenge during her final three months at The Tiffin House of Georgetown TX. Her family expresses their deep appreciation for the care that she received.
She arrived on March 19, 1943 in San Angelo TX; a beautiful gift for Captain and Mrs. Charles Hall. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Waco. She often talked about spending wonderful summers with both sets of Grandparents in Breckenridge, TX. As an extremely bright student, she liked helping fellow students with their homework and always did her own homework before other activities. While at Waco High she caught the attention of a doctor who mentored her as a lab technician at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, taking and analyzing samples.
Next came a year at Baylor University then a year at the University of Texas, during which time she met 2 nd Lt. Gerry David Kammer, USAF. She finished her BA Degree at Auburn University during her 17-year stint as a devoted Air Force Wife.
Their last assignment was with The U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. Jennifer was the manager in charge of support for Distinguished Visitors to the Conference for Security and Economic Cooperation in Europe. She delighted in having her own car (armored) and driver to help her carry out her duties.
Returning to Waco, TX she found that she really loved working as a Travel Agent. As in all endeavors, she excelled, receiving her Certified Rating. Upon moving to Austin, Jennifer rounded out her career as a travel agency manager and wrapped up her career in Georgetown as a travel agent.
Even in retirement, she was always active, finding her next love, "The Caring Place of Georgetown, TX" where she became known as "The Lamp Lady", restoring and pricing the donated lamps for resale. Jennifer received her 15-year pin a few years ago.
Jennifer is survived by her spouse of 56 years, Gerry David Kammer, Lt. Colonel USAF(Ret); son, Gerry David Kammer II and wife Shannon; grandsons, Gerry David (Behr) Kammer III & Maxwell Joseph Kammer; brothers, Charles Edward Hall II and wife Debbie of Kerrville, and Frank Steven Hall of Sacramento; sister-in-law, Kendyl Lyn Zillich of Kennewick, WA.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Hall.
