Jeffrey Scott
Black
July 27, 2023
Jeffrey Scott Black was born on October 31, 1985. He was adopted by Lillian and Bill Black to become one of this family's twelve siblings - brothers Chris, Robbie, Jonathan, David, Matthew, Michael, Tarlton and Kevin - and sisters Kimberly McNeely, Nicole Morse, and Kelli Black. There was never a dull moment in this household.
Having made his profession of faith to follow Jesus, Jeffrey was baptized at Main Street Baptist Church by his brother-in-law, David Morse. Jeffrey had a strong Christian faith, read his Bible, loved going to church, and singing the old hymns of the faith.
Jeffrey loved hunting with Challenge Sports of America/Rio Grande Valley organization. He also loved fishing in Galveston with POINT Challenge Sports. He participated for 20 years in the various events sponsored by these organization for persons with various handicapping conditions.
A favorite pastime of his was playing video games with his best friend/nephew, Mason McNeely. Jeffrey dearly loved his cat, Scarlet, and left specific instructions for the family to continue care for her.
Over the years, Jeffrey had the opportunity to work at different businesses. He was currently working with Dollar General and had worked at several of their locations in the Williamson County area.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents, brothers, sisters, many nieces, and nephews. He had many friends from his work experiences, as well as from his participation in the various hunting and fishing events for physically/mentally challenged sportsmen. He is predeceased by his brothers Robbie, Chris, and Kevin Black.
Having begun his life weighing only 1 lbs. 6oz., Jeffrey throughout his life long health issues was a very happy and encouraging person to all he met. He never let his high blood pressure, kidney damage, and lung/breathing issues stand in the way of his life nor his faith in God. He is now free from the pain and the limits he personally experience from his medical and physical disabilities.
