On April 9, 1971, she married the love of her life Richard Marvin Burson at St. John's Methodist Church in Georgetown. Together, they made their home in Georgetown for almost 50 years.
Early in her career, Janie worked for St. David's Hospital in the nursery. She loved caring for the newborn babies. She worked for Safeway for many years and then with food services at Georgetown ISD. Janie enjoyed being outdoors from an early age. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She had a knack for training them. Janie provided many fond and loving memories for her nieces and nephews out on the ranch. From gathering eggs, bottle-feeding baby goats and calves, riding horses, swimming, hunting, and many other outdoor activities, visits to the ranch were exciting and fun times. She was a great cook, and liked to bake, including decorating cakes for others. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Methodist Church. Janie was a people person and liked to share stories. In the last few years, she really enjoyed going out on shopping trips with her caregivers. Janie was a cancer survivor, being diagnosed in her early twenties.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, A.R. Robbins, III.
