Jamie Ward, 90, passed away on January 26, 2024 in Georgetown, TX. Jamie was born on March 29, 1933 in Andice, TX to James and Flora Baker.
Jamie graduated from Florence High School and continued her education at Business School in Austin, Texas.
Jamie married Milborne Ward in Florence, TX on January 29, 1953. The couple had 4 children, Nancy, Sheryl, Amy, and Paul.
Jamie was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Her home was always a place of gathering for friends and family. She took pride in her home, beautiful yard, and flowers. She loved working in the yard includingdoing her own mowing.
Jamie was very involved with her community, her children's school, and her church. She volunteered to help wherever needed. Her baking and sewing skills were excellent. She always had chocolate chip cookies in the cookie jar. She was ready for anything, from mending asport uniform, to just sewing a simple button in a moment's notice. Jamie and Milborne also loved sports and enjoyed watching all their children and grandchildren participate.
Jamie is survived by her husband, Milborne Ward of Georgetown; sister, Molly Houston and husband Jesse of Austin; daughter, Nancy Brizendine and husband Curtis of Florence; daughter, Sheryl Flynn and husband Jim of Sunrise Beach; daughter, Amy Locke and husband Jim of Georgetown; and son, Paul Ward and wife Shannon of Pflugerville. Grandchildren: Adam (Christy) Foster, Cary Brizendine, Hillary (Brandon) Lincoln, Emily (Ethan)Walker, Stephanie (Mario) Jimenez, Derek (Megan) Brizendine, Julie (Kendell) Ward, Erin (Nachelle) Ward, Harrison Cruz, and Olivia Cruz. Great grandchildren: Andrew (Allene) McDade, Baylie and Samantha Foster, Wyatt and Tatum Lincoln, Eli and Eric Walker, and Amos Brizendine. Great, great grandchildren, Mazie and Steele McDade.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Flora Baker and her sister, Mary Catherine Henson.
Memorial donations can be made in Jamie's name to Florence Public Library.
A time of Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Ward will be laid to rest at Florence City Cemetery following the funeral.
