Obituary

James R Cook, a hardworking and lifelong resident of the great state of Texas, passed away on September 4, 2022 unexpectedly at his home.

James is survived by his wife, Maria Cook, his children James B. Cook, Traci Velasquez, and Andrew Cook. He has numerous loving grandchildren. He has one surviving brother Jack Cook.

James was born on February 2, 1954 in Austin, TX. He was in the Marines for a brief period of time and was proud of his service to his country. He graduated from University of Phoenix with an MBA degree which led him to work in the IT field for decades. He met his wife, Maria, on vacation to Bogota, Colombia in 1997.

James was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for photography at an early age that continued throughout his life, becoming an avid collector of old cameras. He was the designated picture-taker of the family and enjoyed sharing his passion with his children and grandchildren. In the most recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at motorcycle rallies. He would tell his children that being on the road riding his motorcycle was a cleansing and freeing experience for body and soul. He was a compassionate man that would help anyone in need.
