Eugene Franklin Bohanan, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 87 on September 29, 2022.

Eugene was loved and respected by many and his memory will be cherished by all whose lives he touched. He was loving, kind, inspiring and always had a joke at the ready. He enjoyed fishing, was a devoted Cowboys fan and loved NASCAR! More than anything he loved and cherished his family.

Eugene was born on December 24, 1934 in Georgetown, Texas. He graduated from Jourdanton High School in Jourdanton, Texas in 1954. Eugene proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserve both abroad and at home from 1959 to 1963.

On April 23,1966 Eugene married Shirley Schrank. They were married for 57 years and their love for each other was bigger than life and a testament to the strength and resilience that is created when you can walk life's path with a true partner.

Eugene retired from Harbison Fisher after a 35 year career selling and servicing oil well pumps. This career led his family to Bruni, Texas and then to Freer, Texas where he made many dear friends. He and Shirley moved to Houston, Texas in July of 2022 to be closer to family, where he continued making friends through his kindness and tremendous light. He will be missed by many.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Julia Bohanan, sister Helen Landrum, and brothers Henry, Alfred and Walter.

Eugene is survived by his wife Shirley Bohanan, his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Scott Roselius, and his grandchildren Katherine and Mitchell Roselius, as well as their partners Ethan Boaze and Fatimah Roselius.

Graveside Service will be held at Whiteley Cemetery on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:30 PM.
