Donald Ray Snook of Georgetown, Texas passed away at the age of 82, on April 18, 2019.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. The funeral service for Mr. Snook will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas. A reception will follow the service in the McKinney Hall across the street.
Donald Snook was born to his loving parents, Raymond White Snook and Nellie Neva (Pepple) Snook, on August 14, 1936 in Lima, Ohio. Donald attended The Ohio State University and the University of Louisville. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from May of 1957 to June of 1959. For work, Don was a plant manager, where things such as concrete mixing, off shore rig materials, and farm equipment were produced. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas.
Donald married Carolyn Louise McLeod on May 28, 1961 in Palmetto, Florida. Together, they had five children: Don Snook, Murray Snook, Bruce Snook, Erin Countryman, and Chance Snook.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Snook and his mother, Nellie.
Donald is survived by his wife, Carolyn Louise Snook; children: Don Snook and wife Tanya of West, TX, Murray Snook and wife Rebecca of Georgetown, TX, Bruce Snook of Georgetown, TX, Erin Countryman and husband Mark of Georgetown, TX, and Chance Snook and wife Monica of Jarrell, TX; sisters: Carolyn Brubaker of Granville, Ohio, and Sue Adams and husband Ronnie of Elida, Ohio; as well as 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Honored to serve as pallbearers includes: Kevin Snook, Steven Snook, Adam Snook, Preston Snook, Chris Countryman, Colton Countryman, and Keith Snook.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church at 410 E. University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas 78626. Or, to the Field of Honor directed by the Georgetown Rotary Club, c/o Erin Countryman, 1026 Plateau Trail, Georgetown, TX 78626.
