Angela Elizabeth Engelbrecht Salva passed away on May 29, 2022 in Georgetown, Texas at the age of 83. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Angela was born in Georgetown, Texas on July 28, 1938 to Andrew Otto Engelbrecht and Virginia Hodges Chastain Engelbrecht.
Angela attended Georgetown High School and enjoyed many activities and accomplishments, including being class secretary, yearbook staff, National Thespian and Best Actress, roles in several high school plays, and was also a cheerleader and was crowned the Football Queen. After high school, she attended Southwestern University and Southwest Texas State University, earning her Masters in Education. During her college years, she was an active member of the Tri-Delta sorority, and played an active role for much of her life, including serving as an Tri-Delta advisor for the Theta Epsilon chapter at Southwestern University for many years.
After college, Angela became a teacher and throughout her career, Angela taught school in Georgetown, Texas, Colorado, California, and Massachusetts.
In 1967, Angela married her first husband, Max Barron and lived in Odessa, Texas then moved to Southampton, Massachusetts. Angela and Max had two sons, Douglas and Paul.
In 1984, Angela married Edmund Salva Jr. in Southampton, Massachusetts, and they, along with Angela's two sons, Douglas and Paul, moved to Georgetown, Angela's home town. Angela and Ed also shared a love for Port Aransas, Texas and enjoyed their beach condo for many years. The Texas coast was one of their favorite places to be.
Angela is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Salva, Jr., her parents, Andrew and Virginia Engelbrecht, and her brother, Brian Engelbrecht. She is survived by her two sons, Douglas Barron and wife, Sylvia, Paul Barron and wife, Maria as-well-as her two stepsons, Eddie Salva and wife, Diane, Donald Salva and wife, Michelle. Angela was also survived by fourteen grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren: Allyson Barron, Ryan Barron, Samuel Bushong, Alina Bushong, Sarah McIntosh, Justin Salva, Olivia Salva, Donovan Salva, Jonathon White and wife, Brittany, Dana White, Noah White, Leah White, Rashon Mosee, and Leah Mosee.
Angela did not wish to have a memorial service. Instead, her wish was to have her family and friends remember her as she was as they gather over time in her favorite places to tell stories, remember and laugh. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
