Robert's Obituary

Robert Augusta “Bob” Lothringer, age 70,  of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Round Rock. Bob was born in Kingsville, Texas on June 5, 1946 to Robert Lee Lothringer and Myrtle (Kurth) Lothringer.

Bob attended & graduated from Texas Tech University and was a life-long, diehard Red Raider fan. Bob selflessly served the country he loved as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. He was active in his faith and served as a Lutheran Lay Minister when he was called upon. After retiring from the financial sector, Bob enjoyed teaching business classes part time at Midland College. He also served as a counselor at the Midland College Business Economic Development Center before retiring with his wife to Georgetown, Texas. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer who once hit a hole-in-one.  Fairly recently, Bob served with a group called Battle Mind Recovery, who assisted combat veterans’ transition from war to home. Bob was an avid automobile enthusiast and, in his younger days, an award winning amateur racer. Bob adored his entire family and spending time with his three grandsons.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Joan Lothringer of Georgetown, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Brad Napp of Austin, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rebecca Lothringer of Denton, Texas; and his son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Lothringer of Round Rock, Texas. In addition, he leaves behind three grandsons, Parker and Hayden Napp of Austin, Texas, and Luke Augusta Lothringer of Round Rock Texas. He also leaves behind a brother, William (Bill) Lothringer and his wife Penny of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, and a sister, Sandra (Lothringer) Smith and her husband, Skip, of Lubbock, Texas. Lastly, he is survived by a number of loving nieces, nephews, and goddaughters.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
