With heavy hearts and profound love, we celebrate the life of Yvonne Dowless, who peacefully passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 21, 1951, in Houston, Yvonne was the heart and soul of her family, known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion.
Born to Ruben and Jean Gonzalez, she grew up surrounded by the love and guidance that shaped her into the incredible woman we cherished. She later found a lifelong partner in her beloved husband, Ricky Dowless, with whom she built a life full of laughter, resilience, and treasured memories. Though they both have now departed from this world, their love story endures through the family they created.
She was a devoted sister to Alan Douglas and his wife Jan, and Diane Cabiness and her husband Bob. Their bond was a testament to the power of family, built on a foundation of unwavering support and countless shared moments.
Her greatest joy was being a mother to Joshua Connealy Sr. and his wife Mandy, and Brooke Soto and her husband Jason Sr. She poured her heart into raising her children with kindness and compassion, guiding them with wisdom and love.
As a grandmother, she was a source of endless affection, pride, and joy to Romannie, Alexis, Joshua Jr., Grace, and Jason Jr. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and they will carry her love with them always.
Her faithful furry companion, Missy, remained by her side, offering comfort and unwavering loyalty.
She also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish the light she brought into their lives.
Her warmth, strength, and gentle spirit will be missed more than words can express, but we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she loved and lost.
A celebration of Yvonne's life will be held on March 27, 2025, starting at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught us, and the love that continues to bind us together.
