Obituary

Worley was born in Houston, TX to Ollie D. Brown, Jr. and Margaret Campbell Brown. The family moved to New Orleans when Worley was 18 months old. He attended Isidore Newman School from kindergarten through high school and graduated in 1976. He played baseball as a child and continued throughout high school. He also played football and basketball and was the co-captain of his football team his senior year.

He attended The University of Texas in Austin from 1976 through 1980, where he studied engineering and business. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

He went to work for Superior Honda in the early 1980’s as a car salesman and that’s where he met his wife, Jami, in 1987. They became good friends and often went out with a group of other friends. She always made sure to include one of her girlfriends who she thought Worley had a crush on, and was shocked when he told her that he was interested in her. She was leaving the dealership and they began dating. They married in December of 1989 and lived in the New Orleans area for 6 months. They then moved to Northern Virginia, where Worley went to work for Computer Associates for 3 years. They were both missing living in the deep South, so they moved to Austin, TX. Worley worked for a few car dealerships there until he was able to get on with Dell Computers. He worked there for over 25 years, and was in commercial sales and Federal sales and support.

They had three beautiful children- Connor, Hayley and Morgan, who all live in the Austin area. Worley was devoted to his family and took wonderful care of them and they all adore him! He loved sports- especially football, and he loved his Longhorns. He was also a big music lover and his favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd.

He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He’d been battling lung cancer since July of 2023 and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife and children.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Ollie D.Brown, Sr. and Versia Sapp Brown; Richard Ray Campbell and Bertha Worley Campbell; brother Warren D. Brown. He is survived by his wife, Jami Trahan Brown, and three children- Connor, Hayley and Morgan; brother Steven Brown and his wife, Vicki; sister Katharine Neary and her husband, Mike; and sister Caroline Brown Compton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, their spouses and great nieces and nephews.

Worley’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 9:00am at Light of Christ Anglican Church in Georgetown, TX.
