Obituary

Wilma "Jane" Berglin was born on January 10, 1935 in Berthoud, Colorado. She passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 89. Jane was the youngest of four children born to John and Mary Berglin.

Jane pursued many hobbies. She had a talent for sewing and knitting and loved spending time playing cards. One of her favorite memories was playing cards with Lawrence Welk at his resort in Escondido, California, where she was also featured dancing on his television show.

A lifelong baseball fan, Jane's love for the game began with the New York Yankees. After moving to California, she embraced the San Diego Padres. She was at Qualcomm Stadium when Padres legend, Tony Gwynn, achieved his 2,000th hit. Her children later honored her love for the game with a personalized brick at Petco Park, inscribed with her own words: "Thanks to the best kids in SD."

Jane's strong work ethic was reflected in the lives of her four children, each of whom found success in their own way. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Sandy and Claire. She is survived by her sons, Alan and Kendall, granddaughters Shawna and Andrea, and great-granddaughter Navy Jane.

We hope Granny is reunited with Sandy and Claire, giving them the big hug we've all been sending from afar, and watching over us.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jane's name to your local humane society.
