Obituary

Willis Dean Speck, 89 beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, October 11th at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock, Tx.

Willis was born on November 8, 1934 in Brady, Tx to Wilfred Cleo Speck and Vivian Dorothy Speck.

Willis married the love of his life, Kay Ann Bailey at Tyler Street United Methodist Church on June  20, 1954.

Willis had joined the US Navy Reserves in 1952 and moved into active duty in 1956.  He was stationed on the Tank Landing Ship LST799.  In 1958 he converted back to the reserves for two additional years, ending his obligation on November 25, 1960.

Willis and Kay had two daughters, Lori and Lisa.  Willis retired from American Cyanamid in 1995 after 36 years of employment.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy Norris, and brother, Wilfred "Butch" Speck Jr.

Willis is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kay Bailey Speck, daughter, Lori Ann Tackett, daughter, Lisa Ann Olivares and son-in-law, Adam Christopher Olivares and sister, Wanda Houston.  He was very proud of his grandsons, Christopher Edward Speck, Adam Brett Olivares and fiancé Bobbie, Cody Christopher Olivares, Grant Zachary Williams, Kyle Brandon Williams and one great granddaughter Sophia Rose Williams.

A Memorial service for Willis Speck will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 9:15 am.
