T. Carroll
August 16, 1942 – January 7, 2024
William "Bill" T. Carroll went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2024 at home with family at his side. He is remembered as a devoted loving husband, father, PawPaw, brother, and uncle. Time spent with family was important to him and special memories will be held closely in all our hearts in the days to come.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of Georgetown, TX; son, Patrick and daughter-in-law Mauricia of Abilene, TX; grandchildren: Kaleigh of Richmond, VA, Matthew of Lubbock, TX, Joshua of Abilene, TX, and Joseph of Lubbock, TX; sisters: June Crouch of Georgetown, TX, and Lynn Briggs and brother-in-law Larry of Missouri City, TX; nieces: Kaye Gailey and husband Brian of Forney, TX, Christi Holland and husband David of Georgetown, TX, and Shelley White and husband Donny of Richmond Hill, GA; nephews: Brian Davidson Sr. and wife Lisa of Somerville, AL, Kyle Emmons and wife Joanna of Tyler, TX; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Carroll Williams; brother, Randy Carroll; and nephew, Donald Williams.
Bill was born August 16, 1942 to William Weldon Carroll and Sara Elizabeth Laney Carroll. He was raised in Tyler, TX and graduated from John Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College and Baylor University.
Bill, trusted in Christ as his Savior when he was eighteen at Queen Street Baptist Church in Tyler, TX and spent the rest of his life trying to serve the Lord by actions and deeds. He loved working with young people and spent many years teaching Sunday school and Bible studies for high school and college age youth. His impact on those lives has been far reaching.
He also worked with kids for years as a coach of youth soccer and little league baseball.
He loved the outdoors, fall colors, fishing, hunting and gardening. He enjoyed sharing all of those things with his grandchildren.
Bill's life long professional career was in property tax administration, having served as Chief Appraiser of Gregg County and Williamson County, Texas. He was active in his profession and was recognized and honored in many ways, including: serving as President of the International Association of Assessing Officers, as well as the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts. He enjoyed being around people and made many close and lasting friendships during those times.
He will be greatly missed, but his prayer was to be reunited with loved ones and friends on the far side of Jordan. He was a member of First Baptist Church Georgetown.
Visitation January 17th, 2024 from 4 - 6 p.m. and funeral service January 18th, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, Georgetown, TX.
Visitation will also be held on January 19th, 2024 at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church, Tyler, TX at 12, noon followed by services at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, in Tyler, TX.
