William Dooley O'Connell, age 69, of Georgetown, Texas met our Heavenly Father on January 12, 2018. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on August 25, 1948 to William and Margaret (Dooley) O'Connell. William married Jeanie Poe on March 13, 2004 in Dallas, Texas. He worked as a CPA with Deloitte in Dallas, Texas until his retirement of 39 years in 2009.
Bill was a member of First Baptist Georgetown where he served as Deacon, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Hospital Visitation Team, Church Library, Billy Graham Call Center and Grief Share Facilitator. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Autistic Treatment Center of Dallas and Heartlight Ministries in Hallsville, Texas. He enjoyed spreading the love of Jesus on his many missions trips that took him to Uganda, New York City, Ukraine and to Mexico many times with

He will be remembered as a kind, loving, generous, out-going man who loved his family, his dog Dooley and friends. He always lived life to the fullest. Bill served others selflessly and he tirelessly demonstrated Christ's love to everyone he met. He loved time with his family, traveling, being a graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, the Vikings and calling BINGO at the Wesleyan. He was known for the costumes he'd wear while serving tea at the FBG Annual Ladies Brunch.
He is survived by his wife Jeanie O'Connell; daughters Cari Ann O'Connell and Margaret Marie O'Connell; son William Barthelemy O'Connell (Lisa); step-daughter Melissa Brattlof (John); sisters Kathleen Ahrens (John) and Ruth O'Connell; brothers Terrence O'Connell (Denna), Daniel O'Connell (Karen), Timothy O'Connell (Jody) John O'Connell (James Williams); grandchildren, Andy O'Connell, Brody Garland, William O'Connell and Victoria O'Connell, Matt Brattlof, Ellie Brattlof, Luke Brattlof and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 34 years Vicki Marie Barthelemy O'Connell, and youngest brother Thomas "Duke" O'Connell.
Memorials may be made to St. John's University - Collegeville, MN, Thomas J. Murray Chair in Accounting Fund (SJU), First Baptist Georgetown, or Pearl Haven Ministries.
