Obituary

William T. "Bill" Cook passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 with his wife Sharron by his side. He was 74 years old.

Bill was born on December 7, 1943 in Baytown, Texas to parents Melvin L. and Virginia A. (Stout) Cook. Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Howard Payne University. It was a warm summer day on June 1, 1963 when Bill exchanged wedding vows with Sharron Elizabeth Frazier in Von Ormy, Texas. From their union, they had five children:  Melody, Shawn, Courtney, Preston, and Prescott.

In October of 1967, Bill enlisted into the United States Army, where he served as a 1LT in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the service on October 17, 1969. Bill worked for Snap-On-Tools and his job allowed for the family to travel and live in: Houston, Texas, Novato, California and Puyallup, Washington. Bill retired from Snap-On-Tools after 31 years of diligent service. Bill moved back to Texas as soon as he could. Bill subsequently started his own Professional Home Inspection business in the Austin area and was self-employed for over 8 years.

Bill was a man of faith and possessed a heart of service for others. While growing up, Bill was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America and earned the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout and the recipient of the Order of the Arrow. He served in every local community church that he attended. Bill served as an extension of Christ's love as an Ordained Deacon at First Baptist Georgetown. Even after death, Bill was able to help serve others by graciously donating his corneas to the Lone Star Lions Eye Bank. He will be greatly missed by his wife, his loving family, and those who were fortunate enough to call him friend.

To cherish his memory, Bill leaves behind his wife, Sharron Cook; Children, Shawn C. Cook; Courtney D. Miller; Prescott S. Cook; granddaughters Jessica Cook, Priscilla Cook, Susana Cook, Adelhaide Cook, Ellen Garmon, Selena Samaripa, Briana Samaripa, and Fae Miller; grandsons: Forrest Cook, Corey Cook, Kyle Cook, Hans Cook, Elias Cook, Ansel Cook, Denver Cook, Isaac Garmon, Emmanuel Garmon, Akira Miller, Nicholas Cook, and Isaiah Cook.
