Irvin Wayne Couch, 86, passed away from this life on June 23, 2023, in
Round Rock, Tx. Wayne was born on December 18, 1937, in Sunray
Texas. He was the oldest of three children born to Lee Roy Couch and Georgia Fay (Baker) Couch.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Georgia Couch and his wife, of sixty-three years, Mary Gail (Morse) Couch.
He is survived by his sister Wanda Shannon (husband Larry), brother Berl Couch (wife Margie), son Keith Couch (wife Patty), daughter Rhonda Carthel, his grandchildren Amy and Brady Elllis, Katy and Chris Roberts, Jacob and Liberty Couch, Becky and Justin Parrish, Ethan and Amanda Carthel, Seth Carthel, Vanessa and Steven Semonick, Valerie and Marcus Sobral, Kyle Carthel and Tyler Carthel and 8 great grandchildren, all who he loved and adored.
Wayne grew up in the panhandle of Texas, living in some places like Turkey, Herford, Plainview and Amarillo. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1957 then went on to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he was studying to become an Agriculture teacher. After his core studies, Wayne changed directions and he went to school to study electronics instead.
Wayne worked for General Electric, Montgomery Ward, Sears and Samsung to name a few. He was a supervisor and trainer for many years and retired from Samsung.
While living in the Austin Area, Wayne helped with building the Fairview Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon and still has many friends.
Wayne had many hobbies, like horses, helping friends and family with projects, fixing pancakes on Saturday mornings for the grandkids and anything else that he could do and help and spend time with the family.
Many would say that Wayne was a "Gentle Giant". He never had a harsh or unkind word for anyone. He was the gentlest, kindest, loving and the most selfless man you could ever meet. He had the biggest heart and the biggest smile.
A visitation with family will be held Thursday evening at 6:00-8:00 at the Ramsey Funeral Home 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633
His Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Friday morning, followed by a graveside service at the Andice Cemetery 11:00 am - 11:30 am 6957 FM 970, Georgetown, TX 78633.
