Wanda Jeanette Garrett, 95, of Georgetown passed away on August 16, 2025 in Round Rock.

A celebration of life will held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 22 at Ramsey Funeral Home and Crematorium with Paul Partlow of Georgetown Church of Christ officiating.

Wanda was born in Crawford County Arkansas to Homer and Daisy Hembree on May 13, 1930.

She married Gene Garrett on October 22, 1949.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother to 4 children. She lived most of her life in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Wanda was service-minded and involved as a candy striper at the local hospital in Las Cruces; Women's Improvement Association of Las Cruces; Progress Club; Garden Club; and Foreign Arts Club. Wanda was an avid gardener. She had many beautiful roses in her backyard. Travelling with Gene bought her many years of joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Homer and Daisy Hembree of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; her sister Ora Virginia Boley of Irving, TX; and the love of her life Lewis (Gene) Garrett.

Wanda Jeanette is survived by Greta J. Wier, wife of David S. Wier; Gayla C. Palady, wife of Mark Palady; Garry G. Garrett, husband of Jan Garrett; Geana M. Rockwell, wife of Brian Rockwell.

Grandchildren: Garrett T. Wier, Trevor H. Wier; Tyler Garrett, Camille Garrett; Olivia A. Rockwell, Gillian I. Rockwell, and Greyson P. Rockwell. Great Grandchildren: Fiona N. Wier, Gavin T. Wier, Leila E. J. Wier

Memorials may be given to Portales Childrens Home in Portales NM.
