Vincent Lamont
Williams
March 2, 1974 – March 10, 2026
Vincent Lamont Williams, known as Lamont, was born on March 2, 1974, in Georgetown, Texas, to Don Jefferson and Edith Ann Williams. Lamont was known as one of the “realest ones”—genuine, loyal, and full of life, with a smile that could light up any room.
Lamont attended school in Georgetown, where he was a standout athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. His talent earned him recognition in the local newspaper, and after graduating in 1992, he even had the opportunity to sign with the Kansas City Royals. During high school, he also gained an extended family through his teammate Colby and brother Brady, whose parents, Jan and Frank Martin, welcomed him as one of their own until he is laid to rest. He referred to them as his second parents.
On December 5, 1995, Lamont welcomed his daughter, LaTavia K. Williams. He was a proud father from the day she was born. Through her, he had a grandson.
Lamont began working at TDS in 2013, where he found not just a job, but a second family. He truly loved what he did and the people he worked with. Even while on medical leave during chemotherapy, Lamont would still stop by just to visit and check in on his TDS family—that’s how much it meant to him.
Life brought challenges, including the loss of his father in 2016, his brother Raymond “Pookie” Hall in 2019, his brother Jefferey Thomas in 2022, and his mother in 2025, but Lamont remained strong and never lost his spirit.
Family meant everything to him. He shared a close bond with his cousins and valued every moment together. In 2016, he married the love of his life, Betty Sherouse-Williams. Their love was quiet, strong, and deeply understood without words. Through that union he leaves his grandchildren Da’Ja, E’Riyah, Jurni, and Jamari, and great-grandchildren E’dyn and Mikey. Lamont shared a special bond with Mikey, truly “Pawpaw’s boy”. Anytime they were together a ball and genuine love was displayed.
In 2024, Lamont was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Even then, he remained positive, often saying he was “fine” or “okay,” showing his strength and selflessness.
Lamont leaves behind his sisters, Donna Bellard and Damica Carter, his brother Dameon Thomas, and many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Lamont will always be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and the love he gave so freely. His spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
