Obituary

Vickie Darlene Fristoe, 78, passed away on August 12, 2023, at her home in Round Rock, Texas, after a courageous 11-year battle with Systemic Scleroderma, Pulmonary Fibrosis, and multiple related illnesses. Vickie was born in Houston, Texas, on February 16, 1945, to William Douglas Gorden and Ella Mae Gorden.

Vickie's love of Jesus Christ and her unwavering faith in Him was known to all whom she encountered. Oh, how she loved to share the good news of eternal salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ with others! Even in her suffering, Vickie radiated joy and happiness, frequently gathering loved ones around her bedside to join hands with her to pray for the healing and salvation of others. She truly was an inspiration.

Until her health permitted, Vickie loved hosting large family holiday gatherings and celebrations, preparing beautiful meals, decorating, and warmly welcoming others into her home. She expressed her love for others by preparing creative and always delicious meals, including the world's first and only delicious fruitcake.

Ever the humble servant, Vickie gave selflessly to others. When she saw a need, she quietly met the need, whether it was making a meal or homemade cake for someone, always served with a generous side of encouragement.

Vickie worked alongside her husband for many years, building a successful insurance agency together. They made an excellent team. They also traveled to many beautiful places with friends and family. Their home was always an oasis with beautiful gardens.

Vickie is survived by Vernon, her loving and devoted husband of 62 years. He has been by her side, providing her care and fulfilling her every need during her illness. His devotion during her illness was a constant reminder of his unwavering love and commitment to her. She considered Vernon to be her best friend.

Vickie is also survived by their children Cheryl Fristoe, Gerald Fristoe, and his wife Teresa; Christine Hlousek, and her husband, Edward; and Brandon Fristoe.

Vickie deeply loved her grandchildren Chase Fristoe and his wife Megan; Amber Fristoe, Kendall Fristoe, Leila Hlousek, and Calleigh Fristoe. She shared a special bond with Leila, who lived close by and visited often. Her other grandchildren lived out of state or country but maintained contact with her.

She was also great-grandmother to Oliver Fristoe and Theodore Fristoe, whom she enjoyed watching grow through social media.

Vickie's greatest desire was for all her family members to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord of their lives. As a way to honor her life, please take a moment to read one of Vickie's favorite passages of Scripture, Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV):

"For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

The Viewing will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78633, at 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The funeral service will begin at 3:30 pm, followed by a graveside service at IOOF Cemetery at 1117 East 7th St, Georgetown, TX.
