Obituary

Harold Jean Lockhart (known as Tony by most) was born on March 4, 1947 to Giles and Virginia Lockhart in Brownwood, Texas. He joined the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1966 and spent 6 years serving this great country. After many years of running his father's sheet metal shop, Tony opened H.J. Lockhart Metal service in 1988.

Tony and Yvonne went to the same elementary and high school together. They then ran into each other one fateful day in 1980. The two of them then went on to marry in 1981.  Tony and Yvonne joined their two families together to have four children and then later had two children together. Yvonne truly was the love of Tony's life and you could see their love shine from miles away.

Tony was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.

Tony and Yvonne have been members of Hill Country Bible Church for over three decades.  HCBC is where Tony began his personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. During their years at HCBC Tony and Yvonne met some of their best friends that became their chosen family.

Tony loved the sport of rodeo which he then instilled in his children and now grandchildren. He traveled all over the country hauling his kids to rodeos and even winning a National Senior Pro Rodeo Association steer wrestling championship of his own along the way. For Tony rodeo is a way of life not just a sport. The memories created in the rodeo arena are the type of memories that will be passed down through generations to come.

Tony was also a passionate outdoorsman and could often be found hunting with his boys and best friends when he wasn't taking a hill country drive with Yvonne.

Anyone who knew Tony knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife Yvonne and six children Courtney, Cole, Todd, Andrea, Elizabeth and James.  He is also survived by his precious grandchildren that he loved dearly, his son and daughter-in-laws that he loved as his own children, his mother Virginia, his sisters and their families.

Isaiah 40:31- But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
