Obituary

Timothy Gene Knippa, age 67, of Walburg, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2018. He was born July 18, 1950 in Austin, Texas to George and Martha (Neumann) Knippa. Timothy married Karan Hadaway on September 17, 1971 in Glendale, Arizona. He worked as a Technician for DHL Analytical in Round Rock until his retirement in 2012. Timothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg where he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He also served as President of the Walburg Community Center.

Timothy grew up in North Austin at Redeemer Lutheran Church where he attended church and school. He helped in the family restaurant business in the early 60's and enjoyed several years of playing in a country and western band with his life long friends from Redeemer Lutheran School. In 1969 he moved to Arizona to serve in the USAF as an Air Craft Mechanic. It was there that he met and fell in love with his now wife, Karan Hadaway Knippa.

Survivors include his wife, Karan Knippa; sons, Jeffrey Knippa (Robin), Daniel Knippa (Kimberly); grandsons, Jakob Knippa, Dayton Knippa; granddaughters, Emily Knippa, Khloe Knippa; sister, Linda Benson; niece, Melissa Caton (Brent); nephew, Robert Benson; along with numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Benson, Scott Linebrink, Brian Matocha, Ryan Callaham, Brant Caton, Matthew Rochner.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Linebrink, Sandy Callaham.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran School Tuition Assistance-Walburg, Texas; St Paul Lutheran School-Taylor, Texas.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24,2018 from 6-8pm at Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg on Thursday after burial.
