Obituary

Thomas Daniel Reynolds, 71, of Gatesville, Tx, peacefully took our Lord's hand and crossed over to Glory to be with our Lord and Savior, on July 27th, 2024 at 10:45 am.  Tom was surrounded by his loved ones, holding hands and singing the praises of our Lord, as Jesus came and gently guided him Home.

Tom was born in Houston, Texas to Thomas and Ann Reynolds on November 4th, 1952, but moved to Lufkin, Tx as a child where he grew up.  Tom attended Lufkin High School and graduated in 1971.   Tom worked throughout Texas as a master machinist and tool maker, working on various projects from implanted medical devices to US government airplane engines.

Tom was a creative soul.  Being the son of a carpenter, he thoroughly enjoyed wood working and crafting beautiful keepsake pieces for those he loved.  Tom also had a knack of making artwork with barbed wire, creating beautiful pieces of Texas décor. Tom intertwined his love of the Lord with his love of music, which inspired him to write over 160 songs… ranging from humorous, to personal and religious songs.  His love of blue grass and the gospels is felt in his words and style.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Pat Reynolds.  Tom and Pat met in Round Rock, and made a life together in Georgetown, Tx.  Tom was very involved at Main Street Baptist Church, where he served dutifully.  But his favorite place was on the stage with his guitar, where he would sing praises to our Father.

Tom is survived by his sisters: Connie McEntire (James), Roxanne Hobbs, and Kristine Dipple.  He is survived by his children from a previous marriage, Robert Reynolds and Cathy Jacobs, his children with Pat, Katie Barnes (Jonathan), and Travis Reynolds (Megan).  His love of his grand-kids was just that, grand! He is survived by: Caul, Caleb, and Ryan D. Reynolds, Anthony and Sarah Jacobs, Elizabeth, Scarlett and Madeline Barnes, and Ryan, Briggs, and Reese Reynolds, as well as his great-grandson Haven Reynolds.  He is also survived by his father-in-law Floyd Chambers (Bennie), and sister-in-law, Charlotte Parker, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He loved them all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ann Reynolds, brother Ronnie Reynolds, and mother-in-law Dorothy Chambers.

Funeral service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church in Georgetown, Tx  on Saturday August 3rd at 1:00 pm . Visitation to follow in the church fellowship hall.
