Thomas J.
Forys, Jr.
December 28, 1970 – June 12, 2026
Thomas J. Forys, Jr., “Tommy” age 55, of Georgetown, Texas and formerly of Illinois passed away on June 12, 2026 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
Tommy's final resting place will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in a private family service. Arrangements are by Ramsey Funeral Home.
Tommy was a loving, supportive husband to his wife Jaquolene Forys (nee O’Hagin) for nearly 17 years. He was a dedicated father, who adored his kids, Olivia and Logan. He was the beloved only son of his surviving parents, Janeen (nee Crotty) and Thomas Forys, Sr. of The Villages, Florida and was cherished by his sisters, Michelle Forys and Elizabeth (Daniel) Johnson. He was a fond Uncle to his nephews, Braedan, Emmett, and Luke Johnson.
Tommy was a creative soul who made his living as a Graphic Artist and Marketing Director after receiving his MBA from Northern Illinois University. When cancer forced him to pivot, he started his own publishing company, T-Bone Publishing, where he authored, illustrated, and published several children’s books. One book in particular was dedicated to his treasured dogs - Mia, the Pug, and Jake, the French Bulldog, who passed away earlier this year. He just recently finished writing and publishing his first novel, Rosehill Bride, a thrilling supernatural mystery.
Tommy was an avid sports lover. His passion for sports began in his youth while playing baseball with his friends and pivoted to football in high school and college, where he played a mean Left Tackle. In recent years, he enjoyed watching games, following his favorites, and managing his fantasy teams. He also enjoyed working on his golf game when time and strength allowed. Mostly, however, he loved to support and watch his children play the sports and activities they love. He was truly their biggest fan; nothing brought him more joy than seeing them explore their own passions.
Tommy was a goofball with a great sense of humor and he wielded it often throughout his life to his advantage - to sway his mom and dad when he was in trouble, to tease his sisters, to woo his wife, to make his kids giggle. He knew that if he could make you laugh, you were on his side and he was exactly right.
Tommy was a big guy with the biggest heart. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. A celebration of life will be held in Illinois on August 15, 2026, where family and close friends will gather to honor the wonderful man he was and the countless ways he touched the lives of others.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider purchasing one of Tommy's books via Amazon, contributing to the Tommy Forys Legacy Fund for Olivia and Logan, or both. Tommy created and published his books as a labor of love for his family and as a way to continue providing for them despite the challenges of his cancer journey. Proceeds from book purchases and contributions to the fund will help support the future of the two people he loved most - his children, Olivia and Logan.
