It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sydney Catherine (Lester) Briney, who died on August 25, 2025, in Round Rock, TX, after a long struggle with addiction. She was born in Omaha, NE, to loving parents Richard and Jennifer Lester on April 9,1996. Throughout much of her life, Sydney battled depression and anxiety, but she persevered and graduated from Hendrickson High School in 2014. She became a certified esthetician to help others enhance their inner beauty. In recent years, Sydney discovered her true calling in working with animals, which provided her therapeutic fulfillment. She took pride in helping create a safe home away from home for many beloved pets.

In 2019, Sydney met Sean Briney, and they fell in love, eventually marrying on November 6, 2021. She enjoyed five years of sobriety and cherished the life they built together.

Sydney was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Pamela Sullivan-Briney, and her great-grandparents. She leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including her husband Sean; her parents Richard and Jennifer; her brothers Jonathon (Jessica) and Benjamin; her father-in-law Michael Briney; her brothers-in-law Chris (Kiley), Eric, and Michael (Diana); her nieces and nephews Abigail, Nicholas, Piper, Tucker, and Asher; as well her grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A kind and generous friend, Sydney supported those around her with encouragement and compassion. She had a gift for recognizing the good in others and touched countless lives. Sydney will forever be remembered as a gentle soul who radiated unwavering love for her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sydney will be held at 11 am on September 20, 2025, at St. Julian of Norwich, 3823 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
