Obituary

Shuler Wilson Page, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 11, 2025, following an 11-week and two-day battle with cancer. He died at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 76. Shuler fought valiantly and never believed he would not overcome his diagnosis.

Shuler was born on January 19, 1949, at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to Earl W. "Pete" Page and Maxie Ruth Dawson Page. He later grew up on a farm in Morgan, Texas, where he developed the work ethic and values that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Kopperl High School and went on to earn his degree from Texas A&M University—an alma mater that held a very special place in his heart.

Shuler is survived by his loving wife of more than 29 years, Denise Jean Berggren-Page; and their children: Travis Wilson Page; Emily Jean Berggren Patterson and her husband Blake, and their children Luke, Logan, and Levi; Laura Elizabeth Berggren Ritchie and her husband Shannon, and their child Ryan Elizabeth Ritchie. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bruce Wayne Jean and wife Sue Jean; his sister, Maxanne Little and husband Tim, and their children Whitney Page Little and her husband Henry and daughter Ophelia, Brady Little, and Kelsey Little. Shuler is further survived by many cherished cousins who lovingly supported him in recent months, including Ralph and Faye Yates, Jim and Glenda Dawson, Ron and Judy Dawson, Ron Dawson, Carolyn and Jesse Aldridge, Ken and Karen Dawson, and Paula Minshew Dell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Maxie Page, and his parents-in-law, Jimmy and Nancy Jean.

Shuler adored his grandchildren and played an active role in their lives, loving them with his whole heart.

He spent 28 years with Sysco Foods, where he formed lifelong friendships with his "Sysco family," who remained an important part of his life through countless stories and shared memories—stories that never grew old. His love for the food industry eventually led him to purchase Gumbo's Louisiana Style Café, known as Gumbo's North, in Round Rock and Georgetown. He and Denise owned and operated the restaurant for 18 years, closing in April 2023.

During that time, Shuler and Denise became surrogate parents to countless young employees, many of whom they loved deeply and continue to stay connected with today. They shared both joyful and difficult life lessons with their staff and felt profoundly blessed by the relationships and memories formed. Shuler never forgot a single employee's name. Beyond their staff, they also grew to love many vendors and loyal customers, many of whom are grieving his passing today.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to their neighbors Brandi and Jeff, their cherished bunco friends of 40 plus years , and Denise's lifelong sorority sisters. Their unwavering love and support carried Denise through this profound loss. Shuler and Denise spent nearly every day together—both professionally and personally—for almost 18 years, and their community of friends rallied around them in extraordinary ways. The family feels deeply blessed.

The family also wishes to express sincere thanks to Texas Oncology, Dr. Michelle Ashworth & her staff, the 3rd Floor Oncology team at St. David's Hospital, and especially Sarah Howard, whose compassion touched every heart. There is a special place in heaven for caregivers like her. We also thank Ramsey Funeral Home for taking care of our Beloved Shuler! We love you immensely. You have cared for our other loved ones and we adore you!

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19, Shuler's 77th birthday, at 2:00 p.m. at Northpoint Church, 1320 Arrow Point Drive, Suite 201, Cedar Park, Texas. Food, drinks, and toast of Shuler's fave (IYKYK) and shared memories will follow. In honor of Shuler and his beloved Texas Aggies, guests are encouraged to wear Aggie attire—or at least Aggie colors. Shuler was the very best Aggie. He was immensely proud that two of his three children became Aggies and good-naturedly understood the third's claim that her siblings joined a "cult"—a cult of tradition and loyalty that lived deeply in Shuler and continues on through Travis and Laura. He was deeply proud of all of the children and their accomplishments.
