Psalm 73:26: "Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the rock of my heart, my portion forever"

Shirley Eileen Bouchard, passed away on March 2 this year at the age of 94 after a long battle with progressive dementia. She died peacefully, in her own home, loved by family and her caregivers that became family. She is survived by her four boys: Gary (m. Linda), Glen (m. Colleen), Gregg (m. Diane), and Kirk (m. Akiko); her grandchildren Katie (m. Luke), Jesse, Colby (m. Tanner), Courtney, Aaron, Layla, and Ben; and her four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul, and her eldest grandson Jeffrey.

Shirley was beautiful, intelligent, talented and full of life. A simple woman with great character born in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of 4 children. She was fun-loving and a good humored prankster… "full of the dickens," as they say. Shirley married her sweetheart, Paul, in Verdun, Quebec, in 1952, and in 1953 the couple moved to the USA after Paul was drafted into the Army. Alongside Paul, they traveled from Georgia to New York and built their home of 30 years in Palmyra, NY where they raised their family as well as horses, tapped maple trees, planted raspberries, and made so many more precious memories her boys and grandkids will carry with them lifelong.

Filled with that fun-loving spirit and a sense of adventure, Shirley also traveled the world with Paul after his retirement. Not only did they explore the world via car, train, and plane, but they also sailed over lakes and oceans on their 27' Catalina, Tora, before settling in Georgetown, Texas in 2002 where they both lived and thrived until their passing.

To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. At her request, and final wishes, there will be no memorial service or funeral by her immediate family. She simply wished, above all, to be placed alongside the ashes of the love of her life, Paul, at the Columbarium of their home church First United Methodist in Round Rock, TX.
