Sheryl
Fagan
November 15, 1958 – October 13, 2023
Sheryl was born in Sacramento, growing up spending time living in California, Oregon, and Wyoming.
She attended Goethe middle school, Luther Burback high school, and American River College. She received her Medical Assistant Completion Certificate from Sacramento County ROP.
Sheryl is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Fagan. Sheryl met her husband after moving to West Sacramento, through her cousin, Patsy Rhinehart. She worked several jobs that helped her husband with gas money to graduate college supporting him in getting a job at Intel. They moved to Hillsboro, Oregon where she had their son Michael Jr. Four years later, they moved to Tracy, California for two years before returning to the Sacramento area. In their Rio Linda home, they raised 5 kids at various times, 4 of them being her sisters.
She is survived by her children Michael Fagan Jr. (Jennifer), Jessica Gregory (Marvin), and Jonathon Fagan (Janika) and grandchildren: Grant, Olivia, Natalie Fagan; Emiley Rowland, Hayle, Anthony, Bryant, and Sheryl Gregory. Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents Don and Jeanne Rhinehart, sister Dona and brother Donnie. Sheryl is survived by her brother George Rhinehart.
It was important to Sheryl to support and care for her family and "adopted" family; to make sure each child knew that they were loved and provided for. She loved each niece and nephew as if they were her own and was greatly loved by each of them. Her home was always a safe place to come to receive love and care.
In 2006 Sheryl and Mike moved to Austin, Texas to be closer to their son, Michael, his wife Jennifer, and their grandchildren and were able to purchase the home next-door. Then, in 2021, they retired to Liberty Hill, Texas to be next-door to Michael and Jennifer again.
Over the years Sheryl saw the world traveling to Ireland (6 weeks), Taiwan (6 months), Singapore, Malasia, Bali, and Hong Kong. Sheryl enjoyed spending her time going on adventures with Mike as they traveled the great state of Texas exploring good BBQ, small towns, and festivals. Sheryl and Mike loved cruising the ocean exploring tropical beaches and shopping. Sheryl and Mike would travel out of state spending the night at different casinos trying their luck on slot machines. Sheryl would always show up to cheer on family through important life events, loved to shop the town taking her grandchildren along for the trip. Sheryl loved Christmas; each year she would prepare gigantic stockings for everyone to open on Christmas morning. She always knew where to find the best bargain in town and never met a stranger.
