Sharolyn Fae Hoskinson, age 76, passed away in Eureka, IL on November 30, 2025.
Born on September 30, 1949, in Hillsboro, IL to Dow and Fae Anna Alexander, Sharolyn grew up in rural Illinois. She was a member of the Jolly Workers and Starr Shooters 4H clubs and won many awards for her sewing expertise, including a trip to Chicago for her tailoring project. She graduated from Nokomis High School in 1967 and Southern Illinois University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She married Robert Philabaun II in 1972. They had two daughters, Sarah and Rachel, before divorcing in 1992.
Sharolyn started her career as a schoolteacher and later held various accounting positions. She ended her career at Illinois Wesleyan University as general ledger coordinator. She met Mike in 1994 while living in Eureka, IL. They retired together to Monument, CO in 1998 and married on a beach in Hawaii on September 11, 2001. They traveled the world together, visiting all but one continent. In addition to travel, Sharolyn loved good food, sewing, gardening (especially her orchids), and her Denver Broncos. They moved to Georgetown, TX in September 2020.
Sharolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband Mike. She is survived by daughters Sarah (Wes) Sears of Eureka, IL, Rachel Billings of Colorado Springs, CO, stepdaughter Kimberly Griffith of Leander, TX, stepson Sean (Wendy) Hoskinson, Midwest City, OK, grandchildren Aden, Leah, Anna and Kate Sears of Eureka, IL, Brock and Kaleb Billings, Colorado Springs, CO, Samantha Gronquist (Myles), Newalla, OK, Jacob Hoskinson (Madi), Midwest City, OK, Megan Griffith (Will), Houston, TX, great-grandkids, Harley & Cain, Newalla, OK and siblings Steven Alexander (Susan), Lake Forest, IL, LuAnn Flowers (John), Bartlett, TN, Lorraine Martin, Witt, IL along with many nieces and nephews.
A joint memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, to celebrate Sharolyn and her husband, Michael who passed away on October 24th, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas.
