Sergio Cruces Escobar, the epitome of the family patriarch, completed his earthly journey and was called to his heavenly abode on February 22, 2024, in Georgetown, Texas. Born to this world on October 7, 1951, in the historic city of Leon, Gto, Mexico.
Sergio lived a life marked by earnest toil, steadfast morality, and an unwavering commitment to the ones he held dear. He was a hardworking man who brought a smile to everyone's face. Sergio dedicated many years to working on a fruit farm in Arkansas, instilling values of hard work and discipline in his children. He also worked on the railroad, where he shared his work ethic with his sons.
A man of humble beginnings and enduring faith, Sergio's hands, though weathered by the honest labor of years, were ever extended in generosity and warmth. In the golden years of his retirement, he found contentment in the simple pleasures that life afforded—a shared meal, a hearty laugh, the embrace of family, and the quiet reflection of a life well-lived.
Sergio's legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted wife, Paulina Cruces, and his children: Sergio Cruces Ibarra (Angelica), Alberto Cruces, Gerardo Cruces (Marena), Miguel Cruces (Crystal), Olga Mendoza (Martin), Pedro Cruces, and Elizabeth Cruces (Raz Jr.) The joyous echoes of his life resonate in the lives of his grandchildren Martin Jr, Isaias, Javier and Maritza Mendoza, Daniella Cruces, A. Misael, D. Morelia, and Melody Cruces and his great grandchild Galelia Cruces. The innocent smiles of his grandchildren are a testament to the love he so freely gave. He is also survived by numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, J. Jesus Cruces and Manuela Escobar, his sister Alberta Cruces de Nunez, and his great-grandson Yasiel Cruces, Sergio now rests in the company of angels, his soul finding solace in the divine embrace.
The family invites all who knew and loved Sergio to join in the recitation of the Rosary on March 7, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his memory on March 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Our Lady of the Rosary cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
