Sandra "Sandy" Rodriguez, 75, was born on June 16, 1948 and joined our Heavenly Father on May 27, 2024.

Born to Norris and Helen Floyd, Sandy was the third of four children.  The military family moved to Germany in 1951 and returned to settle in Corpus Christi in the mid 1950's.  Sandy graduated from Carroll High School in Corpus Christi in 1967.  She went on to get her Cosmetology License before she realized her niche was bookkeeping and budgeting.  She worked for the family's air conditioning business, Floyd Air Conditioning, for several years.  After her parents retired and sold the business, the family moved to Laredo, Texas where she had a fruitful career as Registrar for United High School for 24 years.

Sandy captured the heart of her husband Hector Rodriguez in 1983, and married in 1987.  The couple lived in Laredo, Texas and then moved to their dream ranch located outside Encinal in 1997.  They lived out on the ranch for over 20 years before retiring to Georgetown, Texas to be closer to Sandy's sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Jim Abernathy.  Sandy was a great mom to her only child, Melanie Brown.  She was an even greater "Grandma" to Benjamin Hinojosa.

Sandy joins many cherished loved ones in Heaven that have gone before her including:  her parents, Norris and Helen Floyd; her brother, Jimmie Childers; and her sister, Karen McCracken.  Sandy was a beautiful soul who had a passion for rescuing animals.  The number of dogs, cats, horses, wild pigs, rabbits, etc. she rescued over the years is endless.

A memorial celebrating Sandy's life will be held on Friday, August 9 at 2PM at The Worship Place at Rocky Hollow in Georgetown, Texas.
