Obituary

Sally Karen Doolittle, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at her home in Georgetown, TX, where she lived with her daughter, Molly, and son-in-law, Luis. She was born on November 17, 1938, in Danville, IL to Russell and Dorothy (Knowles) Bush.

Sally graduated as valedictorian from Covington, IN, high school in 1956. Throughout her school years, she was known for her skill as an accompanist with the high school chorus. In some programs, she also was featured with a classical solo.

She earned a Bachelor of Music at Indiana University, a Master of Science in education at the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration at Pepperdine University.

In 1960, she married Robert Williams, and they had a son, Marshall, and a daughter, Molly.

From 1962 through 1973, she was the Music Director in public schools in Indiana and Virginia, and often played piano at jazz clubs in the D.C. metropolitan area. In 1973, she married Robert Doolittle and moved to California, where she held various positions with Fortune 500 companies. From 1982 to 1989, she was employed as a project manager by Rockwell International in El Segundo, CA.

In 1990 she returned to her love of music and became the accompanist for the El Camino Community College's choral groups and voice classes in Torrance, CA until her retirement.

Sally deeply loved her many pet dogs and spending time with family and friends. She never tired of travelling, reading, and enjoying anything chocolate.

Sally is survived by her son, Marshall (Ann), her daughter, Molly (Luis), her sister, Nancy (David), her grandchildren, Sophia, Marshall A., and Cassidy, her niece, Pamela (Clyde), and her nephew, Kevin (Kelly).

In accordance with Sally's expressed wish, there will be no public celebration of her life.
