Obituary

With much sadness and heartbreak, we said goodbye to Ryan Neal Hess of Georgetown, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As a result of an auto accident, Ryan left this world on May 17, 2023, at the age of 48, leaving a void in the lives of so many people.

Ryan was born July 21,1974 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Round Rock High School in 1993. After graduation, his interest in politics led him to work at the state capital during the summer prior to college where he was a guide then later interned for a state Senator. He was noticed by many and at the age of 19, the youngest ever, was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to the Texas Juvenile Justice Advisory Board. He attended and graduated from The University of Texas class of 1999. Ryan was bright, intelligent, strong (& strong willed), creative, oh so witty, and had wanderlust for travel. After college graduation, Ryan's love for travel and history took him to Europe for the summer. He ventured his way back to New York City, where he went to work for McCann Erickson. Not able to be contained in the corporate world; his entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. This venture allowed him to make connections in the wine industry that took him to Italy, Germany, San Francisco, and many other places around the world. After traveling some bumpy roads in life, eventually, and with much joy from his family, he made his way home to Texas and settled in Georgetown. Ryan's giving heart and love of caring for people led him into the Home Healthcare business where he worked until his passing.

In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Ryan's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.

Ryan is survived by his mother Linda Scardis (Raymond) of Keller, TX, father Keith Hess (Darla) of Gladewater. Sister Alecia Ridder (Nick) of Southlake, TX, brother Brayden Hess, Gladewater, TX. Grandparents, Bill and Frances Powell, Aunts Annette Thurmond (Ned), Laura Spradlin all of Georgetown, TX. Carol Lea Grogan (John) of Denton, TX. Nieces, Kate, Brooke & Layne Ridder, Nephew Luke Ridder of Southlake, TX, Cousin Patrick Grogan (Rachel) of Caddo Mills, TX, dearest and lifelong friend, Casey "Peach" Tucker and many extended family and friends.

Ryan will be deeply missed by those around him, particularly his close relatives.
