Ronald E.
Isgitt
August 4, 1939 – February 17, 2019
Ronald E. Isgitt, 79, of Georgetown Texas, went home to his Lord on February 17, 2019 after an incredibly full and impactful life and a courageous battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.
Ron was born to Elmer and Laverne (Abraham) Isgitt on August 4, 1939 in Robeline, Louisiana and was the eldest son among his two sisters and two brothers. His sacrificial work ethic as a teenager and young man – and penchant for guiding his younger siblings – was crucial to the family's survival during challenging times while still allowing for memorable political discussions and ping pong tournaments to flourish. Conditions were hard, but shaping and endearing in binding together the hearts of each family member.
After high school and serving in the United States Army from 1961-1964, Ron studied Business Administration at the University of Texas until 1966. He later became the Vice President of Credit and Administration for the Triangle Pacific Corporation within the Dallas building trades industry, retiring in 2000; but that retirement did not stop him from continuing his career in financial management. Ron founded Hill Country Associates Agency in Georgetown, Texas in order to assist others within his retirement community with their Medicare insurance needs - ever the enthusiastic, but practical and helpful, businessman.
Ron married June Hixson of Austin, Texas on November 1, 1968 in Austin. They were blessed with two amazing sons, Scott and Daryl, who, along with their wives and children, were Ron's pride and joy. In great love he gave his sons every tool for successful living, with many a memory made with their families and them on lakes, golf courses, ski slopes, and anywhere fun could be had.
In 2000, Ron and June moved from Garland, Texas to Sun City Texas in Georgetown, together becoming active in their church - The Worship Place – and community clubs and activities. Ron was a past President of the Sun City Fishing Club and a member of the Table Tennis Club, as well as a Sun City Neighborhood Representative. He loved to travel and was an avid photographer.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Laverne Isgitt. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, June Isgitt of Georgetown, Texas; sons Scott (Choo) Isgitt of Encinitas, California and Daryl (Laura) Isgitt of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; grandchildren Ryann, Zachary and Railey Isgitt; sisters, Bonnie (Lloyd) Garcia and Connie (Rick) Evans of San Antonio and Universal City, Texas; and brothers, Donald and Lonnie (Anna) Isgitt of Plano and New Braunfels, Texas.
The inurnment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. that same day at The Worship Place, 811 Sun City Blvd., Georgetown, Texas 78633.
The family is ever grateful for the friendship of the many neighbors, clients, buddies, and fellow church members who made Ron's life so rich in meaning and thanks the amazing staff at Silverado Memory Care Center in Cedar Park, Texas for their compassionate and competent care of Ron in recent months. Memorial donations in Ron's name can be made to Cure PSP at PSP.org .
