Ronald (Ron) Erwin Douglas was born in Winters, Texas on March 30, 1941, to the late Dale and LaJoyce Douglas. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 5, 2025.

Ron grew up in Pleasant Grove a suburb of Dallas. Ron graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1959 and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1963.

Ron retired from Teacher Retirement System of Texas in 1996 as the Deputy Executive Secretary. After he retired, he inherited the job of taking care of the family ranch in Hamilton, Texas. On the ranch he thoroughly enjoyed his cattle and hunting. Ron would spend 2-3 days a week feeding, doctoring, buying, and selling cows.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Sue Douglas, Georgetown, Texas; son, Scott Douglas, and wife Jennifer, Colleyville, Texas; daughter, Amy Boyce, Georgetown, Texas; sister, Dr. Sue Douglas, Arlington, Texas; Three grandchildren-Emily Griffin, and husband Josh, Macon Boyce, and Hope Douglas. Four great-grandchildren-Destry Griffin, Sterling Griffin, Cason Ward, and Leonna May Griffin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home, Georgetown, Texas at 10 am Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Volante of Round Rock and Blue Water Hospice who assisted caring for Ron during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
