Obituary

Rodney Paul Threet, 64, passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2026 in Liberty Hill, Texas surrounded by his loved ones after a 9-month battle with cancer. His celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas followed by a reception where BBQ and desserts will be provided.

Rodney was born in Dallas, Texas to Neda (Wright) and Jerry Don Threet on September 15, 1961. He grew up and graduated from high school in Rule, Texas before moving to Austin, Texas in 1984. He had a love for working outside and operating tractors which he put to use as he worked in construction, directional drilling and septic services for over 40 years. He was an active member of his local golf community and loved spending his weekends there and his vacations golfing. Rodney was a loving and devoted partner to Cindi Schocken of 6 years. Together they traveled, shared a love of the life they built together, and hosted many events for their family and friends.

He is survived by partner Cindi Schocken; her two sons John Schocken and Mike Schocken; former spouse Renee Threet; their four children Adriana Threet, Zack Threet, Marisa Threet and her two children Riley and Jax, and Deiara Cochran and her husband Logan, and their daughter Paisley;former spouse Lisa Jenkins; their son, Brandon Threet, wife Camber and three children Axton, Lennox, and Casey Paul; siblings Charles Threet, Judy Wolsch and husband David, and Terry Threet and wife Tina; numerous nieces and nephews including Jesse and Gina Threet. Rodney left behind a large family whom he loved immensely. Rodney’s children viewed him as their biggest hero and strongest supporter. In them he instilled his values of strength, integrity, and a good work ethic which they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. He was also incredibly generous and anyone who knew Rodney knew how much he put others first and ensured his loved ones were taken care of before himself.

Rodney was preceded in death by his mother Neda Threet (d. 2018) and his father Jerry Don Threet (d. 1996)
