Obituary

Rodney Earl Hoenes passed away at his home in Georgetown, Texas on March 9th at the age of 48 ("That is 17638 days.", as Rod would have said).

Rodney is lovingly remembered by his parents, Earl and Lucette Hoenes of Georgetown; sister, Angela (John Rizzo) Hoenes of Austin; and many other caring family members across the country.

Rodney was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on November 25th, 1967 (Rod would have pointed out, "That was a Saturday.").  He graduated from East Grand Rapids High School where he was a member of the varsity golf team and went on to attend Austin Community College after relocating to Austin with his family in 1986.  He worked at HEB in Round Rock where one of his favorite things to do was to prepare food donation packages for local charities.  For many years, he took pride in making a personal donation of food to those in need.

Rodney enjoyed reading, listening to music, working out, practicing his golf game, researching classic cars, and spending time with his family.

A graveside service will be held in Union City, Michigan at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Caring Place ( http://www.caringplacetx.org/ , 512-943-0700) or the ALS Association ( www.alsa.org , 888-949-2577).

The family would like to thank their friends and the medical team of New Century Hospice for the excellent support and care they received.

Condolences for the family may be offered online at www.RamseyFuneral.com .
