Robert Allen Weimer of Georgetown, TX, passed away on Friday, October 18, at the age of 80, with his wife, Ellen, at his side.

Bob was the middle child of Louis and Mollie Weimer. He was born August 22, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following his high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years.

Most of his business life was spent in the Sales and Marketing arena, operating grocery stores and working in the grocery distribution sector. And that was where he first met the love of his life, Ellen (Lane). They were married in 2000 and relocated to Georgetown in 2001. And his relationship with Georgetown, its residents, its leadership, and its business community was born.

As the owner of Down the Alley Bistro (now Roots Bistro) Bob was active with the Downtown Georgetown Association and served as its President. He went on to serve the City of Georgetown as a member of its Economic Development Committee as well as the Main Street Board. Giving back to the city he loved so much was a priority for Bob.

In 2016, Bob recognized the need to care for those folks in Georgetown who were hungry and living on the streets. That is when Helping Hands of Georgetown was formed. Supported by many generous volunteers and donors, HHGTx has gone on to feed and clothe those in need with more than 700 brown bag lunches per week, 125 weekly pantry bags with shelf stable items to make at least seven meals, and various necessities to help move the least fortunate among us forward.

In addition to his parents Louis and Mollie Weimer, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Louis and his wife Carol, nephew Brad, and sister Betty.

He is survived by his daughters Noelle Erdman, Elgin IL; Rebecca and her husband Jesse Huggins, Cedarburg, WI; grandchildren Nicholas, Logan, Jack, Billie Jean, Grace, Asher, plus nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, October 28, beginning at 3:00p.m. followed by a service at 4:00p.m.at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX.
