Robert
Lindquist
Jul 10, 1948 — Sep 6, 2023
Robert "Bob" Lindquist was born on July 10, 1948, in Oil City, Pennsylvania.
Bob graduated from McDowell high school in Erie Pennsylvania in 1966. He attended the Behrend campus of Pennsylvania State University, and later transferred to the main campus at University Park, where he became a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and graduated with a civil engineering degree (P.E.) in 1970. In 1989, he received MBA from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. He was a big Penn State football fan.
Bob made a career in engineering, mining and construction, starting at C Bohr in Chicago in 1971. Following Bohr, he went to work for Peabody Midwest, also in Chicago. In 1981 he moved to Houston to open Peabody Southwest. Bob left there in 1984 to take a job with Argee, a civil engineering company in Denver, Colorado. A few years later, he left Argee to work at Hubbard Construction (road building) in Florida.
While working in Houston, Bob met Ann. He frequently returned to Houston, and Bob and Ann were eventually married at Unity of Houston in 1990 and she joined him in Florida where they started their new life together. In 2012, he and Ann, returned to Texas and settled in Georgetown where he opened his own successful consulting business. Bob became "GrandBob" and was a loving step-grandfather and enjoyed time boating and in Angel Fire with the grandchildren.
Bob had a passion for exercise and sport and put his all into everything he did. He was an avid runner and triathlete. He was a member of the Track Shack running program in Central Florida for over 30 years. Always very enthusiastic, he trained year-round with many of his good friends. Bob ran races of all distances, including over 50 marathons. In the early 2000's Bob began competing in triathlons, ultimately completing the Iron Man Canada in 2009. He was also a very good golfer and enjoyed playing a round or two with friends.
Once settled in Georgetown, Bob and Ann became active members of the newly formed Unity Church of Georgetown. Bob served on the Board of Trustees as Treasurer for a number of years (before his stroke) and continued his service to Unity by greeting members and guests as they arrived on Sunday mornings. He was dearly loved by all.
Bob made his transition on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in Georgetown, Texas, surrounded by his wife, Ann Kennedy, and their family.
