Obituary

Robert Edward King was born February 14, 1938 in Muncie, Indiana to Orville and Anna Thomas King at Ball Memorial hospital delivered by Dr. Clay Ball. He has one younger brother Charles Thomas King. Bob passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2019 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Susanne; daughter, Alisa Angel; son, David Charles King and wife Erin; daughter, Heidi Lambert and husband Keith; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bob attended Blaine elementary and middle School and Muncie Central High School where he played varsity basketball. He continued to play basketball and earned a letter while he was attending Indiana University. He left there to serve his county in the United States Army Reserve. He continued his education with a degree at Ball State University in Muncie, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Bob furthered his education with post graduate studies at Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He spent 17 good years with International Harvester Company in the construction equipment division, rising to the rank of regional manager of the western US and Canada. In 1982, Bob resigned to accept the position of Vice President of Border Machinery Company headquartered in El Paso, Texas. After an early retirement, Bob and Susie moved to Georgetown, Texas where they have lived for fifteen wonderful years.

A very special thank you to A-Med Hospice team, specifically to nurse Laurel and aid Meagan who were especially thoughtful, sincerely caring, and helpful throughout the whole process.

Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
