Robert Wayne Elliott, 78, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Robert was born on March 15, 1941 in Gause, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father William M. Elliott and his mother, Lucinda Elliott.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margie Carroll Elliott and their devoted son, Darryl Elliott. Robert will be forever loved and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brandon Elliott and wife Angela, Amanda Elliott, and Kristin Elliott Gann and husband Garret, along with their mother Terri Elliott, and great granddaughter, Grace Ann.

He will also live in the hearts of his special niece, Linda Kennedy and husband Patrick, as well as her children and honorary grandchildren, Justin Haley and wife Rebecca, son Bryce, and Brandi  Teague and husband Justin with children Brylee and Jackson.

He is survived by his brothers G.W. Elliott and wife Sherry, David Elliott and wife Marilyn, sisters Gloria Facarazzo, Darlene Browning, and Claudia Montgomery, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert was a gifted athlete and graduated from Thorndale High School in 1959. He attended Temple Jr. College on a basketball scholarship and was selected to the All-conference team in 1960. He joined the U.S. Army for his assignment in Vietnam in 1962. He was subsequently assigned to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Paris, France. He was an accomplished helicopter pilot and was awarded the Air Medal with 36 oak leaf clusters and Distinguished Flying Cross . Upon completion of his military duties, he entered Texas A&M University and graduated with a BBA in Business Management.

He entered Graduate School and in June 1975 and went to work for BorTunCo and was assigned to their project on the Alyeska Pipeline Project on the North Slope of Alaska. In 1978, he returned to the Houston office of BorTunCo where he became President in 1982. BorTunCo designed and developed a massive rock trencher the "ROC SAW," which was used extensively for pipeline projects in the Middle East. Robert traveled throughout Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, U.A.E, Lebanon, and Egypt. While in Egypt, Robert, being a member of the International Contractors Division of the Associated General Contractors was asked by President Reagan to join a White House mission to Lebanon to assess damage to the infrastructure of Beirut, Lebanon after the civil war. Robert resigned from BorTunCo in June of 1988 and acquired a Subway food franchise in Georgetown, Texas, owning four franchises in Georgetown, Round Rock, and Taylor. Robert was also a charter member of Church on the Rock in Georgetown.

He will forever by known as "PaPa" by his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, TX on Friday, October 25th, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

A Memorial Service will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, TX on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 from 10:00am -11:00am. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Community Cemetery at 4:00pm in Weatherford, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Church on the Rock in his memory.
