Obituary

Robert Alan Anderson

May 12, 1945 – October 16, 2026

Robert Alan Anderson, 81, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2026.Born in Colorado Springs and raised in Leavenworth, Kansas, Alan graduated from Immaculata High School in 1963 and earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University in 1970, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.

A respected architect, Alan spent much of his career in El Paso, contributing to notable projects at the University of Texas at El Paso and El Paso ISD. A devoted Catholic, he served as a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Pius X and St. Raphael's in El Paso. He was also a longtime Rotarian, most recently with the Sun City Rotary Club.

Known for his professionalism, quick wit, and occasional outrageous costume, Alan balanced a playful spirit with strong values. He was a devoted husband and father who led by example, taught the importance of kindness and good manners, and was always there to support his family. A lifelong Kansas State Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan, he enthusiastically cheered on his teams and lived by his favorite football motto: “ABC—Anybody But the Cowboys!”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Ruth Anderson, and brother, Brad Anderson. He is survived by Susan, his wife of 58 years; children Michael Anderson, Sarah Anderson, and Amanda Grady; four grandchildren; and siblings Pam, Becky, Kerry, Tim, and Steve.
