February 23, 1944 – September 5, 2019
Richard Wayne White passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2019 with his family surrounding him. He was 75 years old.
Richard was born on February 23, 1944 in Lindsay, California to Aubra and Effie White. He courageously and selflessly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Richard married Betty Jo Buchanan on June 25th, 1962 in Austin, Texas.
Richard could fix and repair anything that wasn't destroyed. He applied his skills and abilities to a career in maintenance. He worked locally here in Georgetown at the Holiday Inn in their maintenance department. He retired from work in 2003 and enjoyed every minute of it! Richard was a member of Andice Baptist Church in Andice, Texas.
To cherish his memory, Richard leaves behind his wife, Betty White of Florence, Texas; daughter, Lori Richards and husband Doug of Keller, Texas; son, Jeff White and wife Heather of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter, Kasey White of Florence, Texas; sister, Charlotte Ellis of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Diane White of Arlington, Texas; grandsons: Cameron White, Cory White and Riley White; granddaughters: Morgan Richards, Aspen White, Maysi Richards and Presley White; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Aubra and Effie White; his son, Michael Wayne White; his brother, W. H. White; and his grandparents: Homer and Lillie Gallaway.
Memorial donations are requested to be made in Richard's honor to the Disabled American Veteran Charity at
www.DAV.org.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. The United State Army will render Military Honors for Richard's faithful and honorable service to our country.
