Ray L. Sansom Jr., age 88, died on January 14, 2022 in Georgetown, Texas.

He was born on March 14, 1933 in Georgetown.  He married Anna Jane Jones of Weir, Texas on July 2, 1960 in Georgetown.  He is survived by his wife, Anna Jane, of Georgetown; one daughter, Andrea Rayell Sansom of Austin; one son, Shannon Macon Sansom of Weir; one granddaughter, Reagan Justine Sansom and one great grandson, Macon Boyd Ryan of Austin. Also, Tracy Edlund, "honorary granddaughter" of Lumberton New Jersey.

Mr. Sansom was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Ellen Sansom, his father, Ray L. Sansom, and his mother, Beulah Rogers Sansom, all of Georgetown.  Mr. Sansom was a member of the Georgetown Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was a Co-founder, deacon, elder, and preached at times, for over 40 years.

He attended Georgetown public schools, Southwestern University, Baylor University, and the University of Southern California.  He was a member in the United States Marine Core during April 3, 1953 to April 2, 1956.  His professional work was in the fields of psychology, mathematics, and motivational consulting.  He had been retired for a number of years.

A private, family service will be held at the Weir Cemetery.  Cremains will be disbursed among his parents, his paternal grandparents, and his paternal great grandparents' burial plats in the Georgetown I.O.O.F. cemetery, as well as within the plot reserved for his wife and plots for her parents, Macon Jones and Gladys Loreen Dill Jones in the Weir Cemetery.

His family would like to thank all friends, and church congregation for their thoughts and prayers. Also, we would like to thank the wonderful team at the Wesleyan Skilled and Rehab Nursing Home for their caring and loving support.
