Ramona Rendon Navarrette, age 77, went to be with her Heavenly Father in Georgetown, Texas, on June 23rd, 2016.  Born on May 1, 1939 to Isaias and Lupe Sapien Rendon, she grew up in Lampasas, TX around numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She married Fred Navarrette in 1962 and she was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church.  She retired from the Georgetown Head Start Program where she worked for over 30 years as the school cook.  She really loved interacting with the kids she served and forged relationships with the children there through their adult years. She was also an avid history buff of local Hispanic community and was often sought out by local civic leaders for her extensive knowledge base and passion in this area. She was very active in local politics and was well known for personally driving local residents to the voting polls so they could exercise their right to vote.  Many friends and family will remember Ramona for hosting Christmas Eve parties and serving delicious homemade tamales.  She was a compassionate person, who was a great conversationalist and always there to lend emotional support to numerous nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband Fred Navarrette; her sons: Llorente Navarrette and wife Aileen of Georgetown; Lamont Navarrette and wife Lauren of Round Rock; daughters: Yvette Navarrette of Georgetown; and Yvonne Navarrette of Round Rock; grandchildren: Tremisha Williams, Laketa Williams, Llola & Max Navarrette; great grandchildren Kyleah Jones, Jalaysia & Jay'Veon Gonzales; Brother Richard Rendon; Sister Dalia Smith and numerous cherished friends, relatives, nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her sisters Elisa Carrasco, Elenora Lopez and brothers Isaias Rendon and Eliseo Rendon.

Out of respect for her wishes, no services will be held.
