Obituary

With deep sorrow we are heartbroken to announce that on April 22 nd , 2023, Phyllis Ann Wilson, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 65. After an arduous battle with Lymphedema, she is no longer suffering and is now at peace. Phyllis was born on November 25 th , 1957, in Beaumont Texas to Dorothy Yvonne Bell and James Purvis Wilson.

She grew up in Vidor Texas, where she explored the Piney Woods and was loved by many. Phyllis was highly involved at school, from band to student council and other clubs, as well as being voted "Class Fav". She also excelled as a twirler in the marching band, performing at many football games, parades, and other events, and later led the entire Vidor High School Marching Band as drum major her senior year. She was a curious kind soul that always held a special place in her heart for her friends.

After school, Phyllis dedicated her life to raising her two sons, ensuring they always had all the love and support they needed and more. She would provide this for her children through marriage as well, accepting them as her own. She had a very tough life but always kept a positive outlook and modeled perseverance with love and acceptance for all. Phyllis was gracious, compassionate, and just an easy person to talk to. She had a way of making those around her feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely able to be their truest selves when with her.

Phyllis had many jobs throughout her life including being a Veterinarian Assistant, a Dental Receptionist, and then eventually she worked diligently for HCA as a Medical Coder for over 20 years. She absolutely LOVED music, dancing, and being outdoors. Phyllis went camping frequently, and if she was able, every weekend you would find her by some water, riding on the back of a Harley, or at an outdoor event. Maybe all 3! She loved tending to her garden and also tending to all of her children. And "her children" extended to her friends and children's friends. If you stopped by Phyllis's, you knew you could always expect a nice conversation, someone who would listen to you, and a good home cooked meal. She always made sure to make enough for everyone and was truly happiest when she could get everyone together for a holiday or celebration.

She is survived by her children, Lucas Sanders and wife Erin Sanders, Josh Sanders, Felicia Wood and husband Chris Wood, and Ray Hall; as well as her grandchildren Leena, Gabriella, Miles, Zachary & Braleigh Sanders, Harley Hoffman, Alia Wood, Bella Hall, and Emilio Lucero.

Services will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home at 5600 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78633 on May 27th, 2023, at 11am.

We could never be ready for Phyllis's life to be cut short so soon, but we will always cherish the countless wonderful memories we made with her and hold dear all the joy she spread and lives she touched while she was here. Let's all celebrate her life the way she would want us to. Friends and family gathering to spend time with each other, laugh and share with each other, and genuinely be present with and for each other.
